Maria Alejandra Ochoa Ferrer (MAOF), Still Life, acrylic and charcoal on canvas, 40x40in., $2,000
The artwork is inspired in the abstraction of a still life painting. This work is the result of several months of study about Cezanne. A neutral background that gives space for a nourishing plate of fruits floating in the center of the painting ready for the human experience. The drawing marks across the painting that shows the simplicity of the shapes as a way of living. The warm colors represents the source of energy that fruits bring to us, which is then transformed into inner energy.

Artist Statement
MAOF (Maria Alejandra Ochoa Ferrer) is a Venezuelan Spanish American abstract painter based in North Texas.

Early in career, Alejandra lived in Madrid, Spain where she worked as an architect. In 2012, she moved to the USA starting her journey as a painter, after pursuing art studies in Collin College and The Art Students League of New York. Art and painting have been constant inspirations in her life. She is focused on large scale formats, where she discovered the freedom of the expression. Her works are displayed in the USA, UK, Spain, Sweden, and Venezuela.

My work is inspired by nature, imaginary places, and my personal interaction with the world. My composition is based on movement, energetic brush marks, freedom, layers, and the use of a dynamic palette. The dynamism of the expression is reflected in the process, where the large canvas can change constantly during its journey between the floor and the wall.
