Artist Statement
After 50+years of playfully employing the magic of whimsical characters entertaining the youthful spirit illustrating children's books and games, I am redirecting my creative energy into mixed media painting. I want my work to be subtle enough to unleash personal emotion, but symbolic enough to invite thoughts, opinions and uplifting perspectives. Through abstraction and impressionistic realism, my paintings resonate a colorful, expressive, synergistic dialogue to the child in all of us. Consequently, I am still telling stories that define JOY, but in a more soulful, visual narrative.
